The Center for Digital Imaging Arts (CDIA) is a Washington school of photography which offers a highly-regarded Professional Digital Photography Certificate Program.
While students are encouraged to explore their creative side, the course mainly concentrates on refining their technical skills and knowledge of the discipline with a very hands-on approach to modern day photography.
Among other subjects course modules include: Introduction to Studio, Digital Darkroom, Preparing Images for Print and Publishing, Working with Models, Event Photography, and The Business of Photography.
The Art Institute of Washington prepares students for careers in the visual and practical arts. Located in Arlington, Virginia, this school is close enough to Washington for students to take advantage of the city's museums and cultural attractions while Arlington itself is home to some of America's largest companies.
Students can study for a diploma in Commercial Photography or enrol for Associate or Bachelor's degrees in Photographic Imaging. Courses provide sound theoretical knowledge, while focusing on a hands-on approach to photography.
