The Art Institute of Charleston forms part of the The Art Institutes network covering 30 locations across the US. This university offers a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design which provides a balanced mix of academic study and practical participation in the design process.
The course acquaints students with the principles of colour, perspective, lighting, space planning, patterning, human factors, furniture, and materials. Later students are encouraged to pick up additional skills using industry-related software and computer-assisted drafting. Great emphasis is placed on students building up their own portfolio of work for later use when job-hunting.
